Hello! My name is Megan Courtney, and I'm the lady behind Sea Rose Studios. I started this business in 2010, in a corner of my living room, doing fine art commissions for different exhibitions and clients. As the years went by, I wanted to explore some different ways to make my work more accessible and functional to a broader audience. In 2013, I began working with silk screens in order to make my designs in larger quantities, and printed on any fabric I could find. Eventually, I refined my process to focus largely on tea towels. I'm 100% responsible for each step of the progress, from drawing designs, to burning screens, to printing everything by hand (though my husband does chip in with ironing). I also love creating home decor items that focus on the natural resources that Maine provides-from hand burned charcuterie boards and kitchen accessories to oyster shell and pine cone wall hangings with locally sourced items-I'm invested in using found objects from the coast of Maine.
